Welding

Steel fabrication and arc welding are dangerous, but industrial-grade PVC strip curtains can control hazards

Metal arc welding discharges red-hot projectiles and damaging radiation. An industrial-strength PVC strip curtain offers an excellent safety barrier to prevent injuring adjacent pedestrians and workers
near production lines and welding activities.

  • RADIATION & HEAT

High-energy electric arc welding generates extreme radiation and heat to melt and fuse metal pieces.
The electromagnetic radiation released includes visible light, ultraviolet (UVA
& UVB) light and infrared wavelengths.

  • EYE PROTECTION

    Welding strip curtains made from
a particular PVC material block harmful light rays. Since UV and visible blue light can harm the human eye’s cornea and conjunctiva, and infrared radiation
and glare may lead to headaches and cataracts, a welding strip curtain is essential to protect nearby workers.

  • SKIN BURN PROTECTION

Welding sparks and molten particles can ignite fires or burn unprotected skin. Block stray projectiles from reaching adjacent areas and protect against convection heat and radiation with a tough PVC welding curtain.

  • SCREENFLEX® STRIP CURTAINS

    Our custom welding curtains are
made from SCREENFLEX® PVC. This transparent red strip material provides safe visibility of welding activities and meets the European Standard EN1598 for welding safety and protection.

  • EN1598 STANDARD

    This European Standard EN1598
(1997) aims to protect nearby people from harmful rays, arcs and projections caused by arc welding processes. EN1598 ensures that transparent welding curtain, screen and strip materials comply with specific technical safety requirements.

  • INCOMBUSTIBLE PVC

The EN1598 Standard requires PVC welding curtains to be non-flammable and combustion resistant. A flame will self-extinguish within a second of being held up to this unique PVC material.
